As trans* people, we are so heavily dispersed in cissexism that we see an article that doesn’t blatantly advocate for our incarceration, murder, misgendering, pathologization, etc. and we think it’s an article that is automatically pro-trans*. In this case, instead of doing the aforementioned things, this article upholds the normative beauty standard, tokenizes a couple people who don’t, rewards bullies and chauvanists, fetishizes trans men, upholds binarism, etc. And, again, what’s with the “born female” myth? Who cares what someone was gendered at birth? And we’re happy for it?
