i. I did my nails to match the book that Jami sent me for new year’s, The Mutations of Fortune by Erica Adams.
ii. “Pain is tempered by deliberate action. I perch. I crouch on the ledge, unable to stand; neither the window nor my knees allow it. I am framed by impossibility. I look at the ground, at the birds there. I can go that far, I say. My body can go that far.” - Erica Adams, The Mutations of Fortune
iii. There is no way to take a photo of a hand that does not make it look like a freaky monster hand (unless you are like Alfred Stieglitz or Man Ray or something).
iv. I’m positive I saw a super similar set of nails on tumblr recently & that it’s what lodged this color combo/design in my mind, but can’t find the photo anywhere. Sorry!

Speaking of Man Ray, tonight I watched Midnight in Paris and thought of your mom.

1. perfect 2. as a nail enthusiast i must admit that i think hands, when isolated in photos, are indeed freaky monsters (and kind of weird and ugly, especially wrapped around tiny bottles). 3. but this manicure is a+ 4. exquisite cuticles girl
